Oscars 2013: Red Carpet News
Argo vs. Life of Pi: The 85th Academy Awards yielded no clear winner, but honored a couple of great movies. Oscar winner Anne Hathaway (Les Misérables) and other red carpet stars in pictures.

Hi, if you compare the results to the Golden Globes there were no big surprises at the 85th Academy Awards last Sunday. The Oscars were rather evenly spread among a couple of great movies.
Argo vs. Life of Pi
Argo officially won the Best Picture Oscar, but the prestigious Best Director Oscar, which is usually awarded jointly with Best Picture, went to Life of Pi.
So it was rather a split decision, also in raw numbers. Argo picked up three Oscars (Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Editing) and Life of Pi four (Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Original Score and Best Visual Effects). Result 4:3 for Life of Pi.
Lincoln, the movie with the most nominations (12), won "only" two Oscars: Production Design and Best Actor (in a leading role) Daniel Day-Lewis.
Oscars Love for Waltz and Haneke
The big sensation for me is however that two Austrians won an Oscar :)
"Tarantino villain" Christoph Waltz won already his second Academy Award, this time for his sarcastic supporting role in Tarantino's Django Unchained.
And filmmaker Michael Haneke successfully took home the foreign language film Oscar for his drama Amour. The Austrian-French production was nominated in five categories including Best Picture, which was a sensation by itself for a non-American movie.
Congrats and keep calm and keep rocking!

During the way to the acceptance speech, Jennifer Lawrence tumbled over her voluminous dress, but recovered with humor (see video below). It was no big deal. The former Kodak Theater in Hollywood is now called Dolby Theatre by the way.

Thanks for letting us take part at the OSCARs 2013 via your fantastic review!
Guess one of my favorite looks is the one from Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Hope soon to return to my beloved Hollywood with you ♥

Xena: Oh yes, the Zeta-Jones "dress" is also one of my favorites ;P ♥
DeiterB: Yes, exactly. The dress code is so boring for men :/ It even does not really matter from what brand the tuxedos are because they look so similar.
