Copying content from blogs without giving credit to the author(s) is, unfortunately, an emerging fraudulent behavior on the Web. Read in this issue of IFB TECH tips what a SPLOG is and what to do against copyright infringing blog scrapers.

Hi, a splog is an abbreviation for spam blog and has the sole purpose to generate money in a fraudulent way, for instance by comment spamming, search engine manipulation, and by stealing the content of other blogs without permission nor credit.

On how to deal with this new type of Web scum, I would like to recommend you these two very informative and highly useful blog posts by Relatively Chic and The Taxonomy of My Wardrobe.

Finally, I want to add that I take copyright very seriously, and I do not condone the common practise, I have seen on so many legitimate blogs also, of copying images from around the Web without checking permission nor citing any source, whatsoever.

It’s Time for a Fashion & Tech Evolution Revolution!

Technology has become a part of every day life. By the end of 2011, they expect more people to own a smart phone than an average cell. Augmented reality is becoming... well, reality. And even your parents got on Facebook, finally motivating everyone to learn how to customize their privacy settings!

I can’t say fashion has been on the forefront of these advances. In fact, until Jennine brought together IFB I didn’t have any friends who could edit HTML and discuss whether Pre-Fall was better than Resort. But now we have a group of like-minded women (and men) who can not only do just that, but actually help the evolution of the fashion and technology relationship and bring it to the masses! So rise up with me and let’s start a revolution!
