Oscars 2011: The Happy Winners

See the happy winners of the 83rd Annual Academy Awards gala in Hollywood. Best Actors in 2011: Natalie Portman (in Black Swan) and Colin Firth (in The King's Speech). Congrats!

Hi, it is always interesting to see which movies win the annual Academy Awards and how the result differs from the Golden Globe awards, which are awarded a month prior to the Oscars.

As you know, the Golden Globes are voted by the foreign press (journalists from around the globe), whereas the Academy Awards are voted by the U.S. film industry itself, including directos, actors and writers.

Not surprisingly, these two groups see movies in a different way. However, there were no big surprises this time, except that the foreign press preferred the "Facebook" movie The Social Network over the historical drama The King's Speech.

Another big Oscar winner (4 oscars), which I have seen recently, is Christopher Nolan's movie Inception with Leonardo DiCaprio. The thriller is about a very fascinating topic: Dreams! And how people can be manipulated by injecting a thought into one's dreams. Brilliant concept and the whole movie is a thought-provoking puzzle.

Also really looking forward to seeing Black Swan with Natalie Portman.
