gm to all cyberpunks, crypto nerds and NFT collectors, an eventful crypto year came to an end, providing an opportunity to briefly reflect on the highlights of last year.

My 5 crypto highlights of 2025:

1. New Bitcoin all-time high

My No. 1 highlight was, of course, the positive development of Bitcoin. Even though it has been looking bearish again recently, Bitcoin has set new ATHs throughout the year and reached its current high of $126K in October.

2. Bitcoin-friendly president

Whether you like Trump or not, for the first time in history, there is a Bitcoin-friendly president of a superpower. That's really amazing when you consider how much headwind Bitcoin has faced in the past and, in some cases, still does.

3. Hive blockchain for the people

I have been busy writing a post every day on Hive, the first censorship-resistant crypto-based social network. And the best part is, you can even earn crypto for writing and curating awesome & original content.

4. Splinterlands Avatars & Exemplars upgrade

I fought my way through many brawls this year in my favorite crypto game, Splinterlands. With varying degrees of success, but it was fun to remain loyal to the game. Most recently, there was also an exciting update with user-configurable avatars and the first user-created card (Exemplar). Every user can now create their own card in the game, making this is one of the best upgrades in years.

5. Zaps on Nostr

Nostr is another new decentralized social network and Twitter alternative, which embraces Bitcoin Lightning payments to tip fellow content creators.
